What is Eleven Lab?
We are a laboratory committed to projects that improve people's lives in urban environments and communities, in a close, sustainable and real way, made up of a team of experts in different disciplines. We are experienced architects, engineers, economists, marketers and designers with over 20 years dedicated to developing projects with users in mind.
Are we a lab or an incubator?
The differences are minimal, and we are both. We identify more with the laboratory concept because it's not only about creating and launching a project, but above all, carrying out in-depth research on the market, the context, the ecosystem, or potential users.
Why “Eleven” Lab?
Cities are the great centers of the confluence of people and from them, infinite opportunities for improvement and the sustainable use of resources arise. Our name is the result of our tremendous commitment to Goal 11 in the SDGs of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. It is an objective that promotes innovation and solutions in the lives of cities and common living environments.
How are we different from incubators or other labs?
Mainly in the focus of our projects. We support projects that have a significant impact on the society in which we all live. Our methodology also differentiates us. We help legitimize projects using validation, experimentation and development methodologies that we work on with the entrepreneur. If the idea is unique, the way to analyze and build it (or rebuild it) must also be.
Why do we consider our mentors and collaborators so important?
Projects with a social impact require mentoring that includes a lot of expertise and sector knowledge. For this reason, at Eleven Lab, we collaborate with and are supported by relevant educational institutions and fantastic professionals from different sectors with extensive careers and specializations. The goal? To make your idea a great project: one that's more comprehensive and can go much further.
Why are we committed to UN Goal 11?
We are committed to Goal 11 of the UN's 2030 Agenda, a development agenda focused on people. For this reason, we are interested in projects focused on expanding personal liberties, within a community of individuals. Ideas that meet the needs of people in vulnerable situations, the protection of cultural and natural heritage, that foresee and alleviate natural disasters, that promote participatory urban planning and management, the creation of new economic and social ties between cities, their peripheries and nearby towns or that reduce environmental impact.
Why do Industry 4.0 ideas interest us?
The integration of cutting-edge technologies must be carried out in a sustainable fashion in mass production processes and systems due to the enormous impact they have on society. The new industrial revolution, also called Industry 4.0, is a new way of organizing and digitizing means of production. But it is also means having access to all the information regarding production processes in real time, in any business area, seeking optimization or maintenance prediction, IoT, VR, security systems or identity and access management.
Why are we interested in ideas for the PropTech market?
We are interested in communities as well as the places that the people who make them up inhabit. At Eleven Lab we have experts in real estate with extensive experience in the sector who have always opted for innovation. They offer an enriching vision that helps our Thinkers develop ideas related to Big Data, real estate crowdfunding, crowdlending, virtual reality or marketplaces. The degree of development of each of these technologies is different but their capacity to change the real estate sector will increase in the coming years.
What sort of entrepreneurs are we looking for?
We are looking for committed entrepreneurs, who challenge themselves and want to be a part of great projects that promote sizable changes, projects that seek to improve the society in which we all live and make each community more sustainable, fairer, and better to live in, both now and in the future.
What sort of ideas do we want to support?
We seek ideas that revolve around our core value, or said another way, ideas that benefit communities , not just individuals.
What will we evaluate in each idea?
Mainly that the idea is connected with our vision and values, that it has a transforming spirit while still being viable and scalable, and that it solves an insufficiency or non-existence in a system or process.
What do I need for my idea to make it into the Eleven Lab idea pool?
The first thing we need is for the idea that you send us to meet the objectives of the laboratory. (You can discover the reasons that led us to create our Lab here). The second is that it must have a technological base that solves problems, deficiencies, or absences in processes and services, and that all this has an effect on the community and not the individual. Put another way, if your idea is an ecommerce solution to sell a product like "ties", but using eco-sensitive fabrics, it is not what we are looking for, since it does not comply with the ideas with which we want to associate ourselves.
What is our methodology?
For a long time we have been helping large and small companies grow and optimize their services and correctly defining their path, adapting their offering to what users, the market, and society as a whole need. All this accumulated experience has allowed us to gather the best processes and develop our own methodology that we adapt to each idea based on its specific needs, validating ideas with a methodology in three phases: Validate, Setup and Launch. Or, to put it another way: validate, create and launch.
When and how can I have my idea validated?
Once a year, we open up to hearing new ideas for a specific period of time. We kick off an open call that lasts approximately a month and during this period you will be able to send your idea or project. If we select your idea, we validate it and build the most strategic points of your company (brand image, presentation to investors, design of a market launch plan, business and sector mentoring, legal and financial advice, etc.) We will work side by side with you and it will be at no cost to you.
How can you present us an idea at any time?
- Fill out the form on our website and tell us what you have in mind.
- If your idea passes our first filter (principally for the objective it satisfies), we'll get in contact with you in order to hold a quick interview.
- If the interview is a succm we'll invite you to the Lab offices, which will serve as a kick-off meeting for the validation process.
- Validate Phase: Validating your idea takes about a month. Working with you, a team dedicated to your project and external agents will validate your idea.
- Setup Phase: On average, we can spend two to three months building the key points of your project strategy with you: your brand, a financial plan, legal advice, an MVP, or the deck you need to present it to investors safely.
- Launch phase: Before the market launch of your project, we will help you develop the necessary strategy.
- Crafting phase: If you want, we can also help you with the technology, including technical project development, web design and development, execution of the marketing plan, etc.
- In no case will the purely technical part be subsidized by Eleven Lab.
What will be your role?
As the founder of your company you will have full control over the process at all times. Each step taken with the project will be in your hands, with the support of experts who will advise you on the most relevant decisions to be made. From us, you'll always have the help that experience brings in building and activating user-focused brands, but the idea will always be yours.
What if you have an idea but there is no open call for projects?
If your idea comes at a time when we don't have an open call open, don't worry. Throughout the year we will be working with Thinkers and building valuable projects and financing most of the cost.
How far do we go when it comes to helping you with your idea?
As far as you like, but we focus on the validation and creation strategy of your project.
Does a project have to be defined to be a part of the Lab?
What is really important to us is that your idea has a technological base that solves problems, deficiencies, or absences in processes or services, and that the impact of your project is on a community and not an individual. Can we support ideas that are undeveloped? We can. Projects that are already validated? Those too. Projects that have begun but have not been validated or have not finished being built? Yes. At Eleven Lab, we seek idea excellence, with a profound social impact. The phase the idea is in and the work that remains to be done is just that: work. We would love to accompany you on that path.
How do we "finance"?
Don't contact us if you only want financing. We want to guarantee that the idea is viable for all or a part of society, help you build it, then help you get financing. Whatever your idea, we will challenge it by validating it on the market.
We aren't we a financing hub?
We know the current models for helping entrepreneurs really well and we know that we have a serious proposal we're committed to: we work full-time on your project in a personalized way with a community-focused interest, to build new environments and create opportunities to improve as a society.
We are not a coworking facility where you can develop your idea surrounded by other entrepreneurs, nor a training center that will give you master classes a few times a month without personal attention. But we do want to offer comprehensive help to people committed to a more resilient, more inclusive, safer, and more sustainable society.
Will you own part of my company?
We believe in a 100% transparent model for helping entrepreneurs. We also believe that if we have trusted your idea to work on it with you, your company will benefit and you will have a much better chance of succeeding and helping society with your project. This way, we can continue to look toward the future together and we'll be available to help guarantee you take off. Consider this the most logical way to get to more advanced rounds of financing (A Series), hand in hand with teams that have built the project together, guaranteeing continuity.
Does Eleven Lab have a set training program?
No, and we don't trust that because that would make us an idea factory. We co-create with you in a personalized manner and work full time only on projects that we believe in and that will help to cover different gaps in the society in which we live.
